Oof. Already off to a rocky start. Not only am I posting this week’s plan (i.e. the inaugural!) late, but it’s a weird week. We are also coming off a few weird weeks.
Sometimes cooking dinner feels like a second full time job, even the simplest of recipes. I love cooking, but even when you love something you don’t always want to do it. Late trains are an instant killer. An uninspired menu is another. Between introducing this idea and writing this post, we had more of those nights usual.
This week is odd because my husband leaves for a business trip on Thursday. We also had already planned to go to sushi on Wednesday since he’ll be gone all weekend. That only leaves three nights in the kitchen. Knowing it was a short week when writing out the grocery list on Saturday made my plan feel ambitious. And it was:
We wound up going out for burgers on Saturday.
Sunday was the Super Bowl (or the Big Game as anyone who isn’t a journalist or official sponsor has to call it). Obviously, Game Day was on the menu and I put out a deep spread: nachos, wings (two sauces), toasted ravs and a few fried pickles.
Last night’s homemade pizza with a bagged Caesar salad was good, but wasn’t photographed. (Bumped for Saturday; kept the cod in the freezer.)
Tonight is a mystery as I planned Asian, forgetting about our sushi plans for tomorrow.
